Made more progress. Wrote script for simple AI that moves toward the character and muzzle flash animation. Working on blood animation when bullet touches enemy and getting a map with walls in. Pics will be uploaded (hopefully) soon!

Suprisingly, I made significant progress on the TDS today. It now has player movment, an aiming reticule/cursor, the player always looks at the cursor, and simple bullets that travel in the direction of the cursor!

NEW!! Just announced!! A Top Down Shooter from DoLoop Games!!
FPSes are too hard to program when it comes to 3D space and bullet rays.
2D Platformers are too hard to program when it comes to sprite movement direction change and solid floors.
AND PROGRAMMING AI IS JUST A KICK IN THE NUTS AND A BULLET IN THE TOE.
So.... what about TOP DOWN SHOOTERS?!? (TDS)
One direction movement,
Simple sprite art,
Stupidly easy to program AI,
AND A LOT OF ROOM FOR COOL VISUAL EFFECTS!!
